I love the album. I pretty much like every song, but my favorite songs are Elastic Love, and I Am. Though I'm still listening to the bonus tracks, and have yet to hear the itunes bonus track "Little Dreamer."

My major criticism for BIONIC is “I Hate Boys”,… not so sure about the message it’s getting accross,… sure it's fun and all, but perhaps if it were 'more' a I hate “boys” versus “men” thing, and I say more, because she mentions that 'boys rarely turn into men',.. but then says 'but all men are dogs', which doesn't help ha ha. I know it's meant to be a fun song, and yes boys/men sometimes suck, but unless it’s a metaphor, I don’t think it’s that great for our society to teach the hatred for any gender, esp. if some biologically female gendered people identify as 'male', which brings me to "My Girls." Again, unless it’s a metaphor, I wonder if ‘her girls’ or those associated with them, may not like being referred to as a girls, I mean genderwise, as some of the people who are associated with those she’s worked with on the album may not identify as ‘female’ though they were born ‘female." Just would prefer to be more gender progressive, perhaps by eliminating gender specificity and using progressive non-gender pronouns in the light of who's she's worked with on the album.

Oops, for some reason my reply didn't go through? Well, anyway, I said that I don't see anything wrong with them. They are just fun songs but I am also pretty traditional myself, lol. They are not my favorite songs but for different reasons than the whole gender thing... definitely not to be taken too seriously. I don't really get into the whole politics of the gender issue anyway but I can sort of see what you're saying. I just don't think the songs were meant to be philosophized so deeply. Tongue
