~Bionic~ & ~Burlesque~
I don't understand why everyone reports that the CD & Movie suck. I "for some reason" can't stop listening to Bionic. I freakin love it. The ballads are perfect. The "hott" songs are HOTT! I am pretty sure I love everyone of the songs. I have listened to the CD 20 times on Itunes. About 20 times on the Ipod. & seen the videos. I know "SALES" are a big part of "critics" but OMG I LOVE the CD. NOW BURLESQUE!! I bought the DVD BLU-RAY on 3-1-11 & seen it every night so far & will probably watch it everyday for the next week. Me & my friends all think it's the BEST movie we have seen in a LLLOONGG time. I have about 2000 movies alone & this one is AWESOME. I thought The Runaways was perfect now this one. I am all about SUPPORTING Christina these days due to the TRASH on TV & the net. Makes me want to puke. I have told I don't know how many people to SHUT THE F UP. I unfortunately have depression & sucky problems that cause me to hit the bottle & I hate it. If she has a problem then I hope she will get help! Her life has had some S**T moment this last year=I can understand. I do hope she don't trash her vocals. Janis Joplin has a straight up whiskey cigarette sound. Ten years ago I didn't know what day it was from Friday to Sunday. Going to college full time, working full time, raising a daughter by myself, so drinking myself to death & parting was the only fun I had. Now I am medicated to help with the B.S. brainwaves & don't drink, but lately I'm craving it. The 1st time I had to much was last Friday at a concert at a club & now it's all I can do to not drink. My daughter is 15 now & had some rough years but Music, movies & what little friends I have is how I get through. When you stop partying all "those" friends or so called friends "leave" no drinking, no smoking, no drugs, no friends. But I now know I didn't need them. I do wish Christina the best & hope she gets well & gets back on top. I'm 36 & have not quite been all the way down to the bottom, but been down pretty low. So she does have fans & people who support her & go through H**L defending her to the stupid people. I for one do love her music & movie. Hope to see a tour soon! Be strong because I know you are a FIGHTER!! Claudia

I enjoyed the movie and the soundtrack myself. It's all subjective really.
I love Bionic and the Burlesque soundtrack but I agree that the layout of Bionic got messed up. I agree with who ever said that the ballads all shouldn't have been lumped together. I also think that the bonus tracks should have been on the on the album to begin with, not just bonus tracks. I did love all the different styles though, great!!!!!!!
It's just the media telling us this. Theres heaps of people who listen to both albums and love them both and the movie too. But most people illegally downloaded her albums. Didn't help they were leaked either.
And regarding the Burlesque soundtrack, I get down to "Somethings Got a Hold On Me" all the time!! Swinging chairs and my hair, No Holding Back!
People who oppose Christina's MUSIC, are typically emotionally unintelligent. They just cannot relate to her. And as everyone knows about human nature, people hate what they don't understand or they're jealous. After watching Burlesque, I realized something very, very important about Christina's genre/style. In order to feel it, you have to have been through it. Also, I think many women, including myself, like to see a reflection of ourselves parallel w/ Christina's character in the film. LOVED IT!!
BIONIC is a great album, I waited too long to be released something more hot, more fun, more enlightened. Christina is a great performer, great singer, but it struggled in the disclosure of bionic. Stripped was a success, and bionic has everything to be better. the young public wants to party, music to dance and music to think too ... LONG LIVE TODAY, does it matter with the media, we love you. AND WE WANT YOU. FOLLOW THE LIGHT.
I think Bionic was great but apart from the disastrous promotion (most remarkable of all the missteps the Geri, Gaga, Beyonce, Madonna comparisons with Christina's looks in Not Myself Tonight), there were many things about it that just didn't make it work.
a. all the ballads clustered in one place. In a record full of electronic and R&B tunes, who can handle a break of 5 strong ballads in a row? This lead to the effect of the album's mood dropping constantly song by song.
b.the album had too many songs with the thematology of "I will kick ur b*tt, I'm the best, girls do it better and boys s*ck". Far too many. So many that many times at the end of the record I was thinking that perhaps Christina really hates boys and made me feel awkward.
c.The album was heavily advertised before it's release for being alternative and indie. This was what everybody was expecting, and yet the majority of tracks were dance-R&B, things that everybody else does these days, and even the lead single was not only part of this genre, but also featured a theme that is not at all new for Christina unlike what she had promised (or what the lyrics suggested). On the contrary it was just another Dirrty/Still Dirrty song. And she wasn't even involved with the songwriting of the song (because in that case it would be a good reason of why she would want to promote it anyway-it would add some extra special value to it).
d.There were too many styles in there but they were not well organised so people who listen to it for the first time: listen one song and they think that this is the style of the album, then they listen another, different one and they get confused, then they listen a third one, it is the same style as the previous one so they decide that this is the style of the album; then they listen to one more different style of song and they either lose interest or decide that each song is different from the next one, and then they reach the part where all the ballads are in line, and since they had decided to expect that each song is different from the next one and now all these songs are the same style one after the other, now they lose their interest for good.
All these songs were great. The record was amazing. But all these points that I raise were facts, and I understand how, because of all these points, the people who are not fans like we are, were not pleased by the overall effort.
I have yet to see Burlesque but the soundtrack is just amazing. Love it.
I think both are amazing, as well.
I prefer Bionic to the Burlesque soundtrack, but consider both studio albums. It's amazing how much she gave us last year!
It wasn't critically acclaimed, but it's some of her best work, IMO.
For me, both are amazing work..
