I am a fan of Christina for reasons that simply will not fit into this box. She is absolutely perfect. Her voice is flawless and undoubtedly the most powerful and pitch-perfect in the industry. Her voice is what caught my attention but her personality and fearlessness is what kept me hanging on for the ride. Her fierce look at life and female sexuality is liberating and fresh. I can remember myself at only 10 years old belting out I Turn To You while my mother recorded, anxious to show all my family and friends. Christina showed me as a young child that a voice as powerful as hers simply must be heard. The Stripped album was released as I was exploring my own female independence, my first love, and my first painful heartbreak. I would sing each song as if it were written from Christina directly for me to help me through the roller coaster ride I was stuck on. Through her I learned to speak up as a female, and show others who would rather I keep my mouth shut, that much like Christina, I too have a voice and opinion to be heard. Back To Basics brought me through my years as a young adult. Once again, her ballads of love fit like a puzzle piece directly into my life. I had found love again and so had she. Christina is an icon to all and that is undeniable. Her beauty is just as stunning as her music. She will forever be a musical legend. Xoxo
