I wouldn't say she saved my life. But she has been a big influence/inspiration in my life.

I've been a fan of her since I was 15... when Stripped came out. The first song I heard from her was "Impossible" live... and that's what made me listen to the whole album. Her voice and lyrics influenced me so much afterwards.

I'm 23 now, and I still look up to her. Because she's not afraid to be herself... and she's comfortable in her own skin. Now I'm influenced by her, I wear whatever clothes I want.

She gets a lot of negative press for some unknown reasons, like Linda Perry said.

If only people were able to understand that she's just a real person. She's not fake like most celebs out there.

I'll tell y'all a story straight from Christina.

She was in a restaurant, I think it was overseas somewhere, I forget exactly where, but she was there eating and a young girl approached her table and just laid a napkin on her table with words written on them, telling her what her songs meant to her, but mostly how the sound of Christina's voice had saved her, etc. Christina has always received notes and letters, but for whatever reason this really struck her and she became determined to always have songs on her album specifically dedicated to those fans, fans like you all is who she thought of when she wrote songs like the Voice Within.

That incident at the restaurant happened when her first album was still out and it made her even more determined to make her own music and break away from what was the norm in the record business and so we got the album Stripped from it.

It's nice to know you guys are out there! I wondered if I was the only one who felt this way? She has saved me more times than not with her music, and her strength! I have followed her from the beginning...I listened to Genie because I liked it, then when I heard the whole debut album...WOW! There were songs on there that immediately touched me, and had me thinking about life and what I felt about it. And since then I have been devoted, and she has NEVER disappointed me!!! SHe is REAL, and STRONG, and she is more than human...SHE IS BIONIC!!! yeah yeah, cheesy as it may be, its true

It's pretty amazing how one singer who was brave enough to get real with her music can actuallty save peoples lives, and that everyone can have their own take on the exact same song e.g i can imagine that there is a lot of different ways for people to relate to walk away, i personally can relate to it in 2 different ways.

Of all the Arts, to me music is the most powerful, for music immediately and instantaneously connects with your emotions.
Of all the Artists in that field - dead or alive - Christina does figure in the top list of the most prominent ones - and, most probably, even spearheads them (if not to anyone else, to me she does!!).
The principle all this - I believe - is based on, is fundamental: If you are able to love someone or something outside yourself, nothing whatsoever that happens to you will be able to completely inundate and drown you, for part of your soul rests at a 'safe place', i. e. that of your love...
In my life prior to having become a www-addict, I have read a lot - probably tons - of books, among them at least two (books, not tons ) of really hardcore - survival guides, one by an expert of New Zealand's military, the other one being the respective manual for the US Army, but with a couple of works of fiction possibly beating those two...:
1st: Do think positively... You do want to survive, Life is worth to survive, and - last, but not least - you yourself are really worth to survive...!
2nd: Do - as soon as possible - take care of the needs of your physical existence - i. e. body - (protection from danger; getting shelter and food, etc.).
3rd: Depending on the scale of the catastrophe that spawned your predicament... try to find comrades (do be cautious,though!) .... or try to let the rescue parties know (signal fires, etc.).
'Praying' - to whatever instance you prefer - may help very much, too... if nothing else, it will both focus your thoughts --- and relax your anxieties....

@babyjayde: If what you wrote is still an issue, true and/or current. I deduct the following: You may be below 18 YOA, you are presently without reliable shelter or sustenance, and your mood/spirit ... is "sub-optimum", so to say.
Prior to you trying to do anything 'desperate' and/or irreversible... get to the nearest phone booth or grab your mobile... and dial up the Emergency Line... e. g., triple Zero (000).... or 112... or 911...(if Google and/or Wikipedia are up to date regarding Australia, and me not having done a typo or mis-read...).
Or if you know where they are - with you able to reach them - do get there.
They will help.
That is what they - in a democratic State - are here for, were intended for, and have chosen that profession for...
