My Bio
I was born Drew Britt Miller. When I was adopted my mother gave me a choice between Matthew and Paul because they were "sufficiently Biblical." I chose Paul, kept Drew as the middle name and became a Johnson because the man to whom my mother was married at the time was one. I fled the South to live in gay heaven: San Francisco. In San Francisco I worked a number of odd jobs to establish residency. Later as a transgendered person, I saught to reclaim myself by reversing the names: Paul Drew became Drew Paul. I have a masters of Arts from the University of West Georgia. I performed at age 5 on EVERYDAY LIVING, a regularly-scheduled Gospel cable television show, and later in 2000 on the AMERICAN MUSIC SHOW, a cavilcade of comedic and expressive genius. In the interim, I learned to play the flute, trumpet, and French horn and performed in a number of community theater productions (e.g., Roger's and Hammerstein's Cinderella, Broadway Selections, Lil' Abner, etc.). I have been a university-level teaching assistant. I have worked in a cubicle as a high-powered account executive. I speak French because it was my minor in college. I am an expert-level chess player and used to be the president of my university's chess teamI am currently a servant of an inelutable art. I consider my style to be foundationally ecclectic (a bit of soul, jazz, pop, rock, indie--as ecclectic as you can be without being ecclectic for its own sake. My range is 4+ octaves, and I have sung in Japanese, French, Spanish, Latin, etc. I have a highly melismatic style with an unsual facility with the falcetto register for a post-pubescent male singer. I dance. I love. I write. I sing. I live. I am hiv+ and an activist for LGBT rights.
